A few of our favorites

  • Brooks Adrenaline for men and women.  (It offers moderate support for slight overpronators but can also be worn by neutral runners.)  $94.95

  • The Infiniti (motion control) $119.95 and the Defyance (neutral) $89.95 are two great new offerings from Brooks.  They have a younger look and following than the Adrenaline.

Defyance

Infiniti

  • The Saucony ProGrid Trigon Nothing lasts longer than the Saucony outersole.  This is the perfect no-nonsense shoe for the efficient runner at a moderate price of $89.95.

  • Saucony Hurricane.  (Our bestseller cushy shoe for women.)  $129.95.

  • ASICS Gel-3000 -- a limited-distribution shoe that comes in above the Gel-2130 and below the Gel Kayano.  A lot of control, priced at $119.95.

  • Mizuno Creation (A higher level of cushion from the Wave Rider.)

Clothing all runners should own:

  1. A wicking top.  (We have several by Brooks, Hind, and Mizuno.)

  2. Shorts with an insert.  (These come in many lengths for men and women.  They are also made of technical fabrics.)

  3. Wicking socks.  (Coolmax, Olefin, Polypropylene, wool, or acrylic.)

  4. A race belt.  (Never have to pin on your race number.)

  5. Visor or mesh hat.  (You can fill the hat with ice in a hot marathon.  The visor keeps the sun off of your face but allows sweat to evaporate.)

  6. Skorts for women.  They cover more than shorts and look good on everyone.  Great if you need to run errands after your workout.

A few other necessities:

  • Body Glide (It'll change your life or at least your running style.)

  • Carb Boom, E-Gel, Clif Bloks, etc. (You'll get tired of any of them, but at least throw in some variety to alleviate the lightheadedness during the long events.)

  • Ultima, E-Gel drinks, Nuun.  (Nuun is a tablet that you drop into your water bottle, and it's fizzy.  A nice change from the others.  Ultima has four electrolytes and no sugar.)

  • Power step or Archmold Inserts.  (You can't go wrong with either.  We'll heat up your Archmolds in our oven and mold them to your foot.  It feels good.)

  • I-pod holders if you must.  (We don't recommend running with music, but if you must, we have them.

  • Stretch laces for multisport events.

Come and see us so we can help you!
