Packet Pick-Up Events: All participants are asked to pick up their race packet between 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Hammons Field, home of the Springfield Cardinals.  Participants unable to pick up their packets at that time can pick them up on race day at the start area from 6:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.  Packets will NOT be mailed to participants. Please note: NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION!

 

Come pick up your packet and participant T-shirt, and browse through the Wellness Expo.

 

Wellness Expo:  During and after the race, participants and spectators can enjoy activities for the whole family, including music, refreshments, entertainment and a special Kids Zone at the Wellness Expo from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the start area. 

 

Course Information: Important –1-Mile, 5K and 10K events will start at John Q. Hammons Parkway and TrafficWay and finish inside the home of the Springfield Cardinals.  Please visit www.stjohns.com/sunshinerun to view the course map.

 

Awards: Due to the economy we will NO longer be able to give out cash prizes.  The top 3 finishers in the 10K and 5K races (in all categories) will receive a trophy. Top overall winners are not eligible for overall masters awards.  Decisions by race directors and chip timer are final.

 

Race Participant Parking: Numerous volunteers and signage will be available to help direct traffic. Please use St. Louis Street to access parking before races begin.  Arrive early!

31st Annual St. John’s Sunshine Run Participant Waiver

 

Important: Each competitor must complete and sign this form, agreeing to the waiver as described below. One person per waiver. 

 

Waiver:  I know that participating in a road race is a potentially hazardous activity.  I should not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained.  I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete this event.  I assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, effects of weather including moisture, high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road or sidewalks, all such risks being well known and appreciated by me.  Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of you accepting my entry, I for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release St. John’s Health System, Springfield Cardinals, Hammons Field, Springfield News-Leader, Meyer Communications, Ridge Runner Sports, City of Springfield, Springfield Police Department  and all other sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event.  I relinquish to St. John’s Health System, all local media and all of the forgoing the right to use any photograph, motion picture, videotape recording and any other record of this event for any legitimate or commercial purpose.
